TEAMS = Technology, Engineering, Art, Mathematics & Science
Major Funding: Mar 23, 2006

Today marked a great day in the short history of spaceTEAMS. We received approval for
funding today from COSA and ACCD that provides the impetus for us to move forward into the
summer camp 2006.

Take a look at Jim's Powerful Presentation! Click on link.
We conducted a full day of exploration for students at the Challenger Center on
May 6, 2006.  There were presentation s by James Brodie Brazell from
Devicepoint, Inc., Sean Kelly from AIA provided show & tell with one of our
Botball robots, Lead Flight Director Bill Merrill led the students in the design of a
Mission Patch, then took them on Mission to Mars and the capstone was a
presentation by Astronaut John Blaha who first showed a video from one of his
shuttle missions; then followed by challenging the students to stretch themselves
for the possibilities and potential for the future.
The spaceTEAMS Academy Summer Camp was a huge success culminating with two
competitions on July 21. One was for the Elementary Level of roboticists and one for the
Middle School Level participants. We had many parents in the cheering section and a
number of pictures were taken that day. There was local and national media coverage of
this one of a kind event in San Antonio.

Keep checking back for information about spaceTEAMS Summer Camp II; 2007.

There is also going to be a Robotics Expo at the State Capital in Austin April 23 - 27,
2007.

robotics programs as the instrument to engage the young students in a teaming, hands-on,
constructiveness environment, applying Science, Technology, Engineering and
Mathematics to arrive at a solution.
Career Exploration/Career Speak

During spaceTEAMS Summer Camp 2006, we will generate awareness among our camp
participants about the opportunities and education in pursuing a  STEM-related
career
